Introduction
Congratulations! You have successfully taken the first step towards securing your ideal graduate position. The Employability A-Z contains a wealth of information, materials and activities which will help you to find the right employer and position for you. The activities will encourage you to think about what employers expect from graduates and will help you to prepare for the whole graduate recruitment process.
What is the Employability A-Z?
The Employability A-Z is made up of information, materials and activities on a range of topics all related to employability. You will see at the side of this screen, a list of topics which you can choose to look at. They are listed alphabetically along with a question that you may be curious to know the answer to.
How does it work?
Browse through the topics on the left of this screen to find the area you are interested in. Within each topic you will find information that will help to answer any questions you may have. For many of the topics, you will find activities which will give you practice in a particular area.
What do the activities involve?
Most of the activities are self reflective and require you to think about your skills and abilities. You may be watching a video clip, completing a brain storming exercise or building on frameworks that you will use in your job search e.g. filling in application forms or preparing your CV. A range of activities are available so there will definitely be something to suit your preferred learning style.
How long will the activities take to complete?
Some activities don’t take long to complete at all, just a matter of minutes. Other activities require you to spend more time preparing your answers.
Do I have to do it all at once?
Not at all. You can complete activities as and when you wish to do so. You can access the Employability A-Z when you like and finish off any activities you may not have had time to complete.
What are the worksheets for?
The worksheets provide a framework for you to use when working through the activities. You do not have to use them but they may make the activities easier to follow.
